Forever Remembered

Obituary

Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on September 24, 1936, Lina Sajous was the beloved daughter of Ethéart Sajous and Louise Pierre. She was the fourth of seven children, growing up alongside her siblings Fernande, Solange, René, Roland, Edith, and Marie-Danielle.

In November 1970, Lina emigrated to the United States with her younger sister Marie-Danielle, eventually making Brooklyn, New York her home—a place where she built a life rooted in love, resilience, and family. Lina was a woman of strength and warmth, whose life was a testament to devotion and care. She is survived by her loving sisters Solange, Edith, and Marie-Danielle, and her brother Roland.

She leaves behind a legacy through her seven children: J. Robert, Ketty, Kelly, Marie-Fernande, Alexandria, Roberson, and Donald.

Her love extends through generations, as she is also survived by countless grandchildren: Joanne, Robert, Tricia, Johan, Christopher, Jennifer, Gregory, Carmen, Felicia, Edward, Serena, Nasir, Jonathan, Ajani, Anthony, Ricardo, Markendy, Johanne, James, Justin and Matthew. She also held a special place in her heart for her honorary granddaughters, Amanda and Jessica. Step Children Jean Francois and Jean-Yves.

Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Aliyah, Indigo, Jesiah, Ava, Summer, Christian, and David II. Lina will also be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews: Alix, Patrick, Gary, Maggy, Chantal, Reginald, Marjorie, Marc-Lesly, Elsie, Allen, René Jr., Remy, Louise, Michelle, Nadège, Sourette, and others, as well as her daughters-in-law Nancy, Francesca and Cathy.

We also acknowledge Lina’s nephew, Gibbs Seraphin, may he continue to rest in peace. Her life was one filled with love, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to family. She leaves behind a powerful legacy that will live on in all who knew and loved her. The family extends heartfelt sympathies and gratitude to the Sajous, Altes, Murat, Georges, Shaw, Ducles, Saintil, Pierre, Debrosse, Jean, Guillaume, and Barozy families.
